Happy holidays from Funjet Vacations

Over the past few weeks, Funjet Vacations has received a flood of great questions regarding Cancun and Cozumel.

We are so happy to see that the interest in these unforgettable destinations is still going strong; so, in an effort to provide you with an eye into these beautiful cities, Funjet Vacations plans to launch a new blog early next year featuring colorful pictures and late-breaking updates on the progress in Cancun and Cozumel.

From everyone at Funjet Vacations, we hope you and yours have a very safe and happy holiday season!

You stated on this site a few days ago to watch for the grand re-opening of Cancun on December 22. Where is it?

We apologize for the delayed response, and we thank you so much for all of your continued patience and interest in the Riviera Maya and Cancun.

We are happy to report that post-Wilma Cancun is quickly rebuilding and has already reopened many of its premier hotels, restaurants and area attractions (see links below for more information).

As Cancun and Cozumel rebuild, Funjet Vacations has remained committed to providing you with quality updates and important information as we receive it, straight from our representatives located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone.

Thanks to the success of this blog, we are also excited to announce the upcoming debut of a "Funjet Vacations' Mexico Updates blog" in the New Year. The Mexico Updates blog will focus on Cancun and Cozumel, and will feature frequent photo and information updates straight from our representatives in those destinations.

Happy Holidays from Funjet Vacations, and we hope you will keep checking back here for continued information on the Riviera Maya as well as links to the new Funjet Vacations' Mexico Updates Blog.

Is the virtual tour of the Royal Hideaway post hurricane? I have clients asking about the beach and hotel. I would appreciate knowing if these are new pictures. Thanks

Hello and thank you for visiting Funjet Vacations’ first official Blog.

In an effort to get the word out about the wonderful (and swift) recovery of post-Wima Riviera Maya, Funjet Vacations has created this blog which we are committed to updating on a weekly basis.

All of the pictures and videos that appear here were taken post-Wilma by the hotels/resorts or by the Funjet Vacations’ representatives located in Cancun and the Riviera Maya; however, this is not true of the pictures and videos that appear on

In answer to your question, the Royal Hideaway Playacar by Occidental is not scheduled to re-open until March of 2006, at which time it will be better than ever! While we do not have any photo updates of the resort at this time, check out this great informational update from this week’s Travel Weekly: .

We will continue to maintain this site with pictures and information about the beautiful Riviera Maya as we receive it, and we hope you will continue checking back. We appreciate your patience, and thank you for your continued interest in the destination.

For the most up to date information on the Rivera Maya’s hotel opening dates, please visit Funjet Vacations official Riviera Maya Hotel Update grid at:
